In our Cinema Cafe Facebook chat room (all readers are encouraged to join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/902349343110685) a member compared The War of the Worlds (1953) to the 2005 Steven Spielberg remake War of the Worlds. His made for a fascinating comparison (he slightly favoured the newer one) which reminded me of a differentiation between the two films I wrote roughly three years ago. Recently, I’ve added some content to the 2005 version notice to make, what I think, is now a proper review of its own. My thoughts on both can be read here.
