These are the reviewed films showing on Turner Classic Movies in the U.S. for the remainder of this month:

First up is the unmissable Busby Berkeley extravaganza Footlight Parade (1933), a previous TCM recommendation here. Let the show begin Monday, December 15 at 6:45 pm PST.

Musical numbers created by Busby Berkeley

My next selection is Gold Diggers of 1933 reviewed here. The show must go on Monday, December 15 at 8:45 pm PST and again on Sunday, December 21 at 5 pm PST.

Ginger Rogers

Viewers who prefer recent, big budget cinematic fare may find Steven Spielberg’s 2005 remake War of the Worlds more accessible and satisfying than its 1953 counterpart. A review of the latter version can be read here and will begin Tuesday, December 16 at 2 pm PST.

Cinematography by Janusz Kaminski

TCM is presenting the Preston Sturges classic Remember the Night (1940), previously recommended here. The stars of this endearing cinematic charmer re-teamed for the later-made Double Indemnity. The date to remember is Saturday, December 20 at 5 pm PST.

Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray
