Recently in our film related chat room (readers are welcome to join here) a member created what I considered to be a “well articulated and fascinating” post extolling the ‘70s for advancing such a new, daring and dedicated approach to cinematic storytelling.
To which I added:
"Filmmakers in the '70s were aiming higher, exploring new territories of human experience, emotional upheaval and not only taking risks in doing so, often hitting, or even surpassing, the high watermarks they strived for. It was a very exciting time for cinema lovers especially for those discovering a wealth of hidden gems released not only in the U.S. but all around the world.”
