Today on TCM:

I have written a few words about this next showing, part of TCM’s tribute to director/producer Martin Ritt, in the first of a series on impressive opening sequences entitled Main Title Inspirations No. 1: The Brotherhood. Released in 1968 to poor public and critical reception, this mafia related film is remembered most for causing its studio Paramount a strong reluctance to make The Godfather (1972). The Brotherhood will appear Monday, December 29 at 1:15 pm PST.
