Today and this weekend on TCM:
Barbara Stanwyck stars as a devoted wife trying to save her husband (played by Barry Sullivan) but equally determined to match wits against killer Ralph Meeker in order to do so, in the previously recommended (here) noir, 1953's Jeopardy. This life or death struggle will commence Friday, July 24th at 3:15 am PDT.

Here is another film noir with a central character whose emotions have apparently consumed his common sense and compromised his moral integrity: The Prowler (1951), previously reviewed here. Be on TCM’s watch Friday, July 24th at 7 pm PDT.

Still another film noir made during the classic time period, is Hidden Gem #10, They Won't Believe Me (1947), with its fascinating, twisted plot and antithetically noir central character. This was my very first entry (linked here) for the Cinema Cafe Site with some kind words from the "Czar of Noir" himself, Eddie Muller, in the comments section below the review. If you're a TCM noir fan and haven't seen this unusual motion picture, please believe me, you don't want to miss this major opportunity. My last TCM recommendation this month will emerge from the shadows in Eddie Muller’s Noir Alley Saturday, July 25th at 9:45 pm PDT and again on Sunday, July 26th at 7 am PDT.

Early Sunday morning, TCM will present another film noir starring Humphrey Bogart. Despite its ridiculously hard to follow plot, this film's wildly entertaining detective yarn is worth waking up for.
