This weekend on TCM:
Preston Sturges' Sullivan's Travels (1941), is a masterful blend of personal concerns, romance and screwball comedy, all revolving around the making of motion pictures, and a previous Blu-ray recommendation here. Sullivan's funny, albeit enlightening, adventures will begin Saturday, October 24 at 5 pm PDT.
Immediately following Sullivan’s Travels we have Jean-Luc Godard’s dissection of the filmmaking industry, Contempt aka Les mepris (1963), a previous TCM recommendation here, and appearing Saturday, October 24 at 7 pm PDT.
James Garner, Rod Taylor and the late Eva Marie Saint star in the intriguing “Mission Impossible” prototype espionage thriller 36 Hours (1964), previously reviewed here. The hour to watch will occur Sunday, October 25 at 2 pm PDT.
TCM's current monthly schedule can be confirmed by clicking on any of the above images. To confirm the correct Pacific Daylight (West Coast) showtime information, subtract 3 hours from the Eastern Daylight (East Coast) showtime listed on TCM’s schedule.
